Annual filing

UCR Registration

Unified Carrier Registration is an annual requirement for most interstate operations. Missing it is an easy way to get stopped and fined.

Who generally has to register

  • Motor carriers operating commercial vehicles in interstate commerce.
  • Private carriers hauling their own goods across state lines.
  • Brokers, freight forwarders, and leasing companies involved in interstate commerce.
  • Carriers based in participating states, and out-of-state carriers operating into them.

How the fee is determined

UCR fees are tiered by the number of qualifying commercial vehicles in your fleet. Brokers and forwarders without vehicles fall in the smallest bracket. The fee schedule is set annually by the UCR Plan and changes from year to year, so we do not publish fee amounts here — confirm current amounts on the official UCR site.

Deadlines and enforcement

  • Registration is annual and opens well before the compliance year begins.
  • Enforcement is roadside; an unregistered carrier can be cited and delayed.
  • Registering under the wrong fleet count can create problems later — count qualifying vehicles carefully.

What we do

Send your USDOT number and fleet details and we will help get your UCR filed for the correct bracket through an independent provider. The UCR fee itself goes to the program; any service fee is quoted separately.
